ALBANY (December 8, 2006) — Albany IVF, an eight–year–old practice offering a full range of reproductive endocrinology and infertility care services, has named Julia Liporace fertility nurse coordinator.
In her new position, the Troy resident will be responsible for coordinating fertility treatments such as in–vitro fertilization and ovulation induction cycles, as well as overseeing patient education, clinic evaluation, and telephone triage. She will also use her knowledge and experience as a registered nurse to provide patients with individual patient treatment plans.
Before joining Albany IVF, Liporace spent the last year as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery unit at St. Peter’s Hospital. Prior to that, she served as a senior nurse intern in the infectious disease/medical surgical unit at Albany Medical Center where she co–authored The Prevalence of Anxiety and its Effects on Treatment Adherence and Health Outcomes in an HIV Clinic.
Since 2004, Liporace has been a private birth and postpartum doula and a member of the Doulas of North America. She is also active with the Associated Nurses in AIDS Care; Sigma Theta Tau, the National Nursing Honor Society; and, Psi Chi, the National Psychology Honor Society.
She is a graduate of Russell Sage College where she earned undergraduate degrees in nursing and psychology.
