Short Term Storage of Cryopreserved Specimens

All frozen materials are stored on site at Albany IVF where they are carefully monitored by lab staff as well as automated security systems. Every sample frozen is labeled with a unique number and code to ensure patient samples are never confused or lost.


Storage is available at no charge for three months for samples processed and frozen at Albany IVF. After the initial three months Albany IVF will bill for storage at the time the specimen is used. We charge per month, therefore fees will correspond directly to the number of months your specimen is stored. Please contact the billing department to determine monthly costs and to discuss insurance coverage.


Albany IVF is a short term storage facility and maintains cryopreserved specimens up to 5 years. After 5 years, you should plan to have your specimens moved to a long-term storage facility.
